As the flood plain boundaries are being remapped across Texas, we are sure that Atlas 14 is going to bring great changes to property owners as their once flood plain free property has a much higher likelihood of falling in the revised flood plain maps. It is estimated that after the revisions 7,200 more buildings and 3,000 more acres will be in the flood plain. While it isn’t possible to know for certain which properties could be impacted over the next couple years, using the 500 year flood plain to gauge if a property will move into the 100 year flood plain is currently the best way to predict.
